From Kevin White: Found something else today. I was working with a store to create a CP ELR survey for a warranty increase. As in most cases the warranty company wanted XX number of consecutive CP repair orders to justify the increase requested, as a dealer we want to give them the best sample we can. We ran EROA for a month, created a data filter to exclude maintenance, exclude warranty pay type, exclude internal pay type and then looked at the summary by day. We then scanned the ELR of each day to determine the best consecutive days to choose that would give us the number they needed and get us the best sample. We then went back to the filter and excluded the days before and excluded the days after the desired date. Rechecked the summary by day to make sure it did what we wanted and then went to the job list report to have a nice clean list of consecutive ROs that we wanted to pull and send in.
Just thought I would share. [ Edited Wed Apr 14 2010, 03:55PM ] David Rutherford - IT Manager ![]() drutherford@atconsse.com 1-800-692-2719 |

From Kevin White: Been using this angle for a few week with VW being big on E-mail penetration. Open EROA, select customer summary, sort by e-mail to see all the customers with out e-mail addresses. Sort by ASM, print the first page of the report and tell'em to get you 10 good addresses and put them in the computer.

From Kevin White: Run EROA for a month, select the VIN Summary report, and sort by the # column so that the highest number shows at the top. Now you can research the VIN number for possible rechecks for QC issues, multiple repairs for warranty issues, or multiple visits for parts order/stocking issues.

Thank you David for posting the information for me. I would encourage all of you to post your tips as well. I have been working with EROA since its conception and I still find new tricks and applications everyday. I am reasonably sure some of you have discovered things I have overlooked, so share your knowledge.

Recently I had a client who wanted to exclude repair orders from the one liner report, even though they in fact had only one customer pay line. Why? Their store had a lifetime oil change program so in their case ANY RO with a customer pay line and a particular labor type (for the lifetime oil change) was a success by their criteria. So we set a One Liner filter by RO level to exclude any ROs that had that particular labor type thereby measuring their advisor performance based on their custom criteria.

I had a friend call me yesterday who had been using EROA for quiet awhile and he had recently purchased another subscription for one of his other stores. His question was "Is there an easy way to move my keywords and settings from one computer to another?" The answer is yes, its kind of a back door trick I use. Once the new EROA is set on the new computer, e-mail yourself a copy of the EROA on the settings you want to transfer. OPen up the e-mail and the EROA on the new computer and go to Tools and then each setting, you will notice that the background of the box that pops up is grayer than normal and the only thing that you can click is a "IMPORT LIST" button. Click the button and you will effectively "suck" the settings into the new computer's EROA. You must do this for each setting, ie Maintenance Keywords, Major Services, etc. It is also important to note that if you have a selection of menus or filters on the old EROA you want import, you e-mail an additional EROA from the old computer with the different settings selected. In the case that your old computer blow up and you want to get your settings back, you can either go to your sent mail if you have every e-mailed your EROA to anyone and pull it in from there or have the receiptient e-mail it back to you. We were having a parts conversation the other day about gross profit on repair parts and we found a quick way to identify ROs that didnot meet the desired repair parts GP%. Once the EROA is created and open, simply go to the REPAIR OPERATIONS report sort it by PARTS GP column so that the lowest GP is at the top and then drill down on the corresponding opcode to identify the ROs in question. This will also work to identify ROs with excessively high parts GP%.
